About the Role
We're a creative agency looking for a freelance social media admin who lives and breathes gaming and TV fandom. This is not a traditional copywriter or SMM role. We want someone who already runs, or has run, a successful fan account. Someone who knows how to post memes, carousels, and reactive content that a fandom actually cares about.
You'll be running social for a gaming platform client: a video game distributor inside a larger entertainment company that also streams movies and TV shows.
If you can turn a Tuesday afternoon gaming moment into a meme that goes up by Tuesday night, keep reading.
What You'll Do
• Pitch content daily across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms
• Write memes, carousels, static posts, Reels scripts, and short-form video concepts
• Produce the content yourself OR write detailed briefs for our production team (writer-only roles are fine)
• Research the brand, its games, and adjacent IP deeply enough that every pitch actually fits the world
• Stay reactive to what's happening in gaming, TV fandom, and internet culture
• Keep the voice funny, weird, smart, and on-brand. Never political, never negative.
What We're Looking For
• You must have run a fan account. This is non-negotiable. Gaming is ideal. TV, film, or another fandom works too if you can show you can learn gaming fast.
• Don't send us a resume. Send us the handle.
• The account can be active or dormant, but you'll need to prove it was yours (screenshots from the backend, a pinned post we can verify, admin access, etc.)
• Deep fluency in gaming TikTok, Instagram humor, fandom tropes, and meme formats
• Ability to research brands and IP thoroughly before pitching
• Fast turnaround and a high volume of ideas
• Comfort working inside brand guardrails while still being genuinely funny
Nice to Have (not mandatory)
• Agency experience (this role runs on agency-style workflows and client rounds)
• Previous work with gaming companies or platforms
• Previous work with streaming services or networks (Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, that tier)
• Daily-driver experience on a brand's Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts
What the work actually looks like
You are marketing IPs, mostly video games, with some TV and film mixed in. Some are huge. Most aren't. A few are rough. The job is making social content that lands with a gaming audience. If you don't have a history of running a fan account or making social content for a fandom, this isn't the job for you.
Pay: $20.00 - $100.00 per hour
Benefits:
• Flexible schedule
Application Question(s):
• We're not reviewing resumes for this one. Send a link to a fan account you ran... gaming, TV, film, any fandom, and be ready to prove it was yours. Applications without a link won't get a response.
