Position: Remote Oncology Informatics Registered Nurse (RN) - Precision Medicine - Dallas, Tx Overview Texas Oncology is looking for a Remote Oncology Informatics Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Precision Medicine team. This position is based out of the corporate office in Dallas, Texas. What does the Oncology Informatics RN do? The Oncology Informatics RN will translate and document non‑structured clinical information into structured data, assist with transcribing precision medicine test results, collaborate with data scientists and clinicians to identify patients for clinical trials, and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program. Responsibilities • Partner with team members on projects to determine data requirements and extract patient data from EHR/LIS/CVP into the clinical data repository. • Apply clinical knowledge and work with an EMR for transactional patient management notes; experience with IKnowMed is strongly preferred. • Perform data queries within a database and complete chart reviews within specific applications such as the EMR. • Provide clinical support to the Precision Medicine Team and assist with education in medical oncology. • Identify and resolve application problems and provide feedback on workflow processes to development teams. • Research and respond to routine and complex inquiries in a timely and professional manner. • Review co‑workers’ work to ensure accuracy. • Review identified patients for qualifying electronic alerts and record per protocol; generate weekly, monthly, or quarterly reports as needed. • Other responsibilities as assigned related to the development of project initiatives. • Participate in and prepare summaries for virtual tumor board meetings. Qualifications • Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program. • Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). • Have a minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience. • Be proficient with MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel. • Have strong computer skills and knowledge of healthcare systems. • Preferred: oncology experience, clinical (nursing, med tech, MD) background, data analysis and management experience, natural language processing experience, and strong experience with IKnowMed. Physical Demands Requires sitting for long periods, some bending and stretching, adequate finger dexterity for keyboarding, vision and hearing corrected to normal range, and occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
