Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced STEM Subject Matter Expert (SME) to design engaging, high-quality curriculum for elementary and middle school students.
This is not a generic content-writing role. We are looking for someone who understands both STEM concepts AND how children learn, and can translate complex ideas into hands-on, age-appropriate learning experiences.
You will help us build curriculum for a growing education program focused on real-world, project-based learning.
Subject Areas (Expertise in one or more):
Robotics
Coding / Computer Science
Engineering
Entrepreneurship
Computer Literacy / Digital Skills
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Designing project-based, hands-on STEM curriculum for ages ~5–14
Creating structured lesson plans (objectives, materials, activities, outcomes)
Developing multi-week learning experiences (e.g., 6–12 week programs)
Aligning content to skill progression (beginner → intermediate)
Recommending tools, kits, and resources (e.g., robotics kits, coding platforms)
Collaborating with our team to ensure curriculum aligns with program vision
Ideal Candidate:
Has experience designing curriculum for elementary and/or middle school students
Strong background in at least one STEM domain listed above
Understands project-based learning and experiential education
Can simplify complex concepts into engaging, age-appropriate lessons
Bonus: Experience with homeschool programs, microschools, camps, or afterschool programs
Nice to Have (but not required):
Experience with tools like LEGO robotics, Scratch, Python, Arduino, etc.
Background in education, instructional design, or teaching
Experience building curriculum that can be taught by facilitators (not just experts)
Project Scope:
Initial project: Design 1–2 curriculum tracks (6–12 weeks each)
Ongoing work available for the right candidate
Budget:
Flexible based on experience (hourly or fixed-rate options available)
To Apply, Please Include:
Examples of curriculum or lesson plans you’ve created (required)
Which STEM subject areas you specialize in
Age groups you’ve designed for
A brief explanation of how you approach making STEM engaging for kids
About Us:
We are building a modern, hands-on STEM learning program designed to help children develop real-world skills through creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. Our focus is on engaging, meaningful learning—not worksheets.
If you’re someone who loves bringing STEM to life for kids and can design curriculum that is both structured and exciting, we’d love to hear from you.
