STEM Curriculum Designer for Kids (Robotics, Coding, Engineering)

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced STEM Subject Matter Expert (SME) to design engaging, high-quality curriculum for elementary and middle school students. This is not a generic content-writing role. We are looking for someone who understands both STEM concepts AND how children learn, and can translate complex ideas into hands-on, age-appropriate learning experiences. You will help us build curriculum for a growing education program focused on real-world, project-based learning. Subject Areas (Expertise in one or more): Robotics Coding / Computer Science Engineering Entrepreneurship Computer Literacy / Digital Skills What You’ll Be Responsible For: Designing project-based, hands-on STEM curriculum for ages ~5–14 Creating structured lesson plans (objectives, materials, activities, outcomes) Developing multi-week learning experiences (e.g., 6–12 week programs) Aligning content to skill progression (beginner → intermediate) Recommending tools, kits, and resources (e.g., robotics kits, coding platforms) Collaborating with our team to ensure curriculum aligns with program vision Ideal Candidate: Has experience designing curriculum for elementary and/or middle school students Strong background in at least one STEM domain listed above Understands project-based learning and experiential education Can simplify complex concepts into engaging, age-appropriate lessons Bonus: Experience with homeschool programs, microschools, camps, or afterschool programs Nice to Have (but not required): Experience with tools like LEGO robotics, Scratch, Python, Arduino, etc. Background in education, instructional design, or teaching Experience building curriculum that can be taught by facilitators (not just experts) Project Scope: Initial project: Design 1–2 curriculum tracks (6–12 weeks each) Ongoing work available for the right candidate Budget: Flexible based on experience (hourly or fixed-rate options available) To Apply, Please Include: Examples of curriculum or lesson plans you’ve created (required) Which STEM subject areas you specialize in Age groups you’ve designed for A brief explanation of how you approach making STEM engaging for kids About Us: We are building a modern, hands-on STEM learning program designed to help children develop real-world skills through creativity, problem-solving, and innovation.
