Freelance Curriculum Designer + Training Module Producer (AI-Enabled)
Overview:
Hiring a freelance curriculum designer and training module producer to create internal-facing training modules that are clear, structured, and engaging. This role is not just about visuals, it includes curriculum design and instructional flow.
Training will be hosted in Rippling and reinforced/shared via internal Slack, so we need someone who can design training for real-world adoption, completion, and retention.
You will work closely with our internal lead (Creative Director) for creative direction and approvals. You own the curriculum structure and the finished training module production.
What you will do:
Curriculum + instructional design
Turn goals, raw info, and subject-matter input into a logical learning path
Create outlines, module structure, lesson sequencing, and assessments/checkpoints as needed
Write or refine scripts, narration, and on-screen text to match learning objectives
Apply best practices for adult learning and internal enablement (clarity, repetition, reinforcement, practice)
Training module production:
Produce training videos from storyboard/script to final export
Create a cinematic/animated visual style (not generic slides)
Build and maintain templates and style consistency across the training library
Package modules in a way that works inside Rippling (naming, formatting, versioning)
Create supporting assets as needed (thumbnails, job aids, quick reference PDFs, recap posts for Slack)
Preferred tools and current stack (not required, but helpful)
We currently use a mix of AI and creative tools, including:
Adobe Firefly
Midjourney
ElevenLabs
HeyGen (used selectively)
ChatGPT / Claude
RunwayML
We want the finished training to feel cinematic and animated where appropriate. HeyGen can be part of the toolkit, but it should not define the style.
What we are looking for:
Proven experience in instructional design / curriculum development (internal enablement is a plus)
Strong creative production skills (editing, pacing, typography, audio, narrative clarity)
Ability to take a messy input and produce a clean, structured curriculum
Excellent communication, deadlines, and version control
Comfortable collaborating with a Creative Director and iterating quickly
Deliverables (examples):
Module blueprint: learning objectives + outline + module map
Storyboards/scripts for each lesson
Final videos (MP4) + source files when applicable
Optional: short Slack-friendly recaps, quick-reference guides, or knowledge checks
Engagement details
Contract/Freelance (Upwork)
Remote
Ongoing work; start with a pilot module, then expand into a library
To apply: share portfolio examples (training, explainers, enablement content). If you have samples showing curriculum structure plus final video, include those.
