Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Gemini is a global crypto and Web3 platform founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss in 2014, offering a wide range of crypto products and services. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of financial reports and associated data, supporting various legal entities across Gemini, while contributing to key growth projects within the Finance department.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end close
- Account for digital asset transactions, customer custodial funds, revenue recognition and other areas
- Analyze fluctuations and trends in financial statement line items and provide insightful commentary
- Assist with the preparation of annual and quarterly footnote disclosures
- Support internal and external audit requests, providing timely documentation and analyses
- Identify process improvements and help implement scalable accounting practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and account for new transaction types
- Contribute to special projects, as needed
Skills
- An undergraduate degree in accounting, economics, finance or related field
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally including public accounting and/or industry experience
- CPA (or equivalent license)
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Experience managing numerous competing deliverables
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and ownership of complex areas
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced and changing financial environment
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus
- Experience with fintech, digital assets, financial services a strong plus (but not required)
