Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Micro-Cap Solutions is seeking a Director of Sales for a rapidly growing national building products organization. This role involves leading a significant sales region in the Western U.S., driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and developing high-performing sales teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead all sales activities across the Western United States, driving profitable revenue growth and market expansion
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with overall business objectives
- Recruit, develop, coach, and manage both direct sales employees and independent sales representatives throughout the territory
- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability measures, and sales objectives across the region
- Grow existing customer relationships while identifying and securing new dealer, distributor, and contractor business opportunities
- Partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to support pricing strategies, product launches, channel development, and customer initiatives
- Coach sales representatives through complex opportunities and assist with closing strategic accounts
- Analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and improve regional performance
- Develop accurate sales forecasts, territory plans, and pipeline reporting
- Build strong relationships with key customers, distribution partners, and industry influencers
- Travel throughout the Western United States to support customers and sales teams
Skills
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within the building materials industry
- Demonstrated success leading regional or multi-state sales organizations
- Strong understanding of dealer, distributor, wholesale, and contractor sales channels
- Proven history of driving revenue growth through both new business development and account expansion
- Experience developing sales strategies, forecasting, territory planning, and performance management
- Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret sales data and translate insights into action
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills
- Self-directed leader who thrives in entrepreneurial, high-growth environments
- Experience managing both direct employees and independent manufacturer's representatives or agency networks
