The Finance Society UTA is the local chapter of the Financial Management Association, serving as a hub for students interested in finance and business. They are seeking a Director of Business Development who will be responsible for expanding the organization’s reach and partnerships, managing business development initiatives, and ensuring sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
- Expanding the organization’s reach, partnerships, and engagement opportunities
- Identifying and pursuing new collaboration opportunities with companies, alumni, and professional organizations
- Developing strategic plans to grow membership and sponsorships
- Managing the business development pipeline
- Overseeing lead generation campaigns
- Coordinating follow-ups to convert prospects into long-term partners
- Conducting outreach
- Preparing and negotiating partnership agreements
- Maintaining key relationships
- Working closely with leadership to align business development initiatives with the Finance Society’s mission
- Tracking performance metrics
- Reporting on outcomes
- Recommending improvements to ensure sustainable growth
Skills
- Demonstrated skills in New Business Development and Lead Generation to identify, pursue, and secure new partnerships and growth opportunities
- Experience in Business Planning, including setting strategic objectives, developing growth strategies, and managing implementation plans
- Proficiency in Contract Negotiation to structure, review, and finalize partnership agreements that support organizational goals
- Strong Account Management capabilities to maintain and deepen relationships with partners, sponsors, and key stakeholders
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and track performance metrics
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Familiarity with the finance or business education landscape and prior experience in student organizations, nonprofits, or professional associations is beneficial
