InsCipher is a company committed to innovation and progress, seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist I to join their team. This role involves processing state surplus lines tax filings, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Complete state surplus lines tax filings, reports, and payments accurately and in a timely manner
- Reconcile client invoices, billing reports, and related financial records
- Research and resolve client credits, refunds, and payment discrepancies
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to tax filings and accounting transactions
- Support the maintenance and improvement of accounting processes and standard operating procedures
- Provide customer service and support to clients, state agencies, and internal teams regarding filing and payment-related inquiries
- Maintain working knowledge of state surplus lines laws, tax filing requirements, and compliance regulations
- Assist with reporting and reconciliation activities to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Skills
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements related to financial information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and Adobe applications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience
- Experience in the surplus lines or insurance industry
- Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software
