They are seeking an experienced Account Executive to independently generate new client relationships within healthcare staffing and locum tenens services, focusing on business development and sales in a competitive environment.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within assigned territories and target markets
- Independently build a robust pipeline of healthcare organizations, utilizing strategic outreach methods including cold calling, networking, referrals, social selling, trade events, market research, and industry intelligence
- Establish and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers, including CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CMOs, department directors, physician leaders, staffing coordinators, and procurement contacts
- Execute a full sales-cycle approach, from prospecting through contract execution and account transition
- Negotiate contract terms, bill rates, and service agreements with healthcare organizations at various leadership levels
- Collaborate with sales leadership on market strategy, competitive positioning, and territory growth initiatives
- Consistently meet or exceed assigned KPI metrics, revenue goals, and sales activity expectations assigned by D&Y sales leadership
- Maintain accurate CRM documentation related to prospecting activity, pipelines, opportunities, contracts, and client engagement
- Stay informed on industry trends, locum tenens market dynamics, and competitor offerings, referencing sources such as internet, articles, social media, etc., on a regular basis
- Keep abreast of changes in the locum tenens industry and what competitors are offering to business clients
- Partner cross-functionally with sales managers, recruiting, credentialing, operations, and marketing teams to support successful client onboarding and growth
- Participate in networking events, conferences, trade shows, and strategic marketing initiatives as needed
- Provide regular reporting of activities and other reports requested by sales leadership
- Perform additional duties and special projects assigned by sales leadership
Skills
- Strong cold-calling, pipeline development, and consultative sales experience required
- Demonstrated success by generating new business through self-sourced prospecting efforts, rather than reliance on inbound or company-generated leads
- Proven ability to build relationships and gain access to healthcare decision-makers
- Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue goals in a competitive sales environment
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Professional telephone presentation
- Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving sales environment
- Proficient with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other business software applications
- Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an orientation toward customer service
- Bachelor's degree in business, Communications, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered
- Minimum of 3–5 years of proven business development and sales success in healthcare staffing, locum tenens, physician recruitment, or related staffing industries strongly preferred
- Experience negotiating staffing agreements, service contracts, and pricing structures preferred
- Strong understanding of healthcare staffing operations and locum tenens industry dynamics preferred
