Position Summary
This is a US Remote position.
Hexion is a global leader in specialty chemicals, delivering innovative solutions that improve performance, sustainability, and operational excellence across industries. As part of Hexion’s digital transformation strategy, we are building a next-generation industrial edge-to-cloud platform that integrates operational technology (OT), industrial data, advanced analytics, AI, and digital twin technologies to drive manufacturing performance and create scalable customer-facing solutions.
We are seeking a Principal Manufacturing IOT & OT Security Architect to establish the security architecture and governance framework that enables industrial AI and analytics while protecting critical manufacturing operations.
The Principal Manufacturing IOT & OT Security Architect is responsible for defining and governing the secure integration of industrial control systems, edge computing, cloud platforms, digital twins, and AI-driven applications across Hexion’s manufacturing environments.
This role serves as the primary authority for industrial cybersecurity architecture and will ensure that all digital manufacturing initiatives align with:
Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture
IEC 62443 Industrial Security Standards
NIST Cybersecurity Framework
NIST SP 800-82 Industrial Control Systems Guidance
Corporate security policies and regulatory requirements
The successful candidate will establish secure patterns for moving operational data from manufacturing environments into cloud platforms while enabling advanced analytics, machine learning, digital twins, and future autonomous operations.
This role requires balancing security, operational reliability, and business innovation while maintaining the integrity and availability of critical manufacturing systems.
Key Responsibilities
Industrial Security Architecture Leadership
Define and govern enterprise-wide industrial security architecture standards
Establish secure edge-to-cloud connectivity patterns
Develop reference architectures for industrial AI, digital twins, and advanced analytics
Define approved deployment patterns for manufacturing environments
Serve as the primary architectural authority for OT cybersecurity initiatives
Purdue Model & Industrial Network Architecture
Design and govern solutions across Purdue Levels 0 through 5
Define segmentation and trust boundaries between:
Control Systems
Manufacturing Operations
Industrial DMZ
Enterprise Networks
Cloud Platforms
Establish secure communication paths between operational and enterprise environments
Develop strategies for secure remote access and vendor connectivity
Secure Industrial Data & AI Architecture
Define approved architectures for:
Industrial data collection

Digital twin environments
Ensure operational data can be securely leveraged for:
Predictive maintenance

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related discipline; Associate's Degree with experience in process manufacturing will be considered
