[Hiring] Pharmacy Technician IV - Patient Assistance Coordinator @University of Arkansas System

Role Description Under the direct supervision of the Department Business Administrator, the Pharmacy Technician (Patient Assistance Coordinator) will have responsibility for coordinating the pharmacy’s financial assistance programs, with a primary focus on infusion drug assistance. The employee in this position must demonstrate special skills, knowledge, and task completion not required by the other pharmacy technicians. The programs to be coordinated and monitored include, but are not limited to: • Infusion drug assistance • PAPs (free drug) • MAP (Medication Assistance Program) • AKDC (Arkansas Kidney Disease Commission) This position will support operations ensuring patients receive the lowest out of pocket expense possible utilizing assistance from various programs and manufacturers. Responsibilities include: • Researching data • Working with Outpatient clinic staff • Connecting patients with appropriate assistance • Assisting in applications • Processing prescriptions • Communicating with billing • Patient follow up The Pharmacy Technician will work with pharmacy leadership to maintain and improve program workflows and expansion. They may perform the duties of the Pharmacy Technician I/II/III/IV, including: • Assisting the pharmacists in day-to-day operations • Patient outreach • Medication delivery • Other facets of patient care The Pharmacy Technician will prioritize work based on immediate need and rapidly changing workload, working as a team member to perform day-to-day work efficiently and accurately. Qualifications • HS/GED plus 4 yrs Pharmacy Tech Experience or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences • 1 year to obtain ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training or certificate program • National Technician Certification (PTCB) • Arkansas Pharmacy Technician Licensure • Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and EMR experience) Requirements • B.S. or higher degree; business/accounting courses preferred • ASHP/ACPE accredited technician training • Previous experience as a pharmacy buyer • Previous experience with 340B • Previous management or team leader experience • Specialized certificate or certification (i.e. PTCB Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician, ASHP Sterile Compounding Certificate, 340B Certification, etc.) • Strong math skills; excellent communication & organizational skills Benefits • Health: Medical, Dental and Vision plans available for qualifying staff and family • Holiday, Vacation and Sick Leave • Education discount for staff and dependents (undergraduate only) • Retirement: Up to 10% matched contribution from UAMS • Basic Life Insurance up to $50,000 • Career Training and Educational Opportunities • Merchant Discounts • Concierge prescription delivery on the main campus when using UAMS pharmacy Company Description The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has a unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs that encourages and supports teamwork and diversity.
