Our Consulting Engineers are an integral part of the Customer Experience (CX) team, delivering Business Critical Services to our customers. We combine the power of Cisco Analytics and Knowledge with the outstanding technical expertise and consulting to drive value, innovation, and adoption in our customer's network. We help them to reduce risk, drive innovation, and improve their network to meet business objectives. We are the customer's trusted advisor and authority, helping the customer understand their network, reduce risks, and take advantage of the technology.
**Your Impact**
As a Consulting Engineer, you will help drive the effort to transform our current and future network architecture for our customers. You will build customer documentation, including High Level Design (HLD), Low Level Design (LLD), and Acceptance Test Plan (ATP) for the entire network portfolio. **Key Responsibilities:**
* Perform work on US Government classified environments, requiring a U.S. Person (i.e., U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) with a current US Government TS/SCI or be SCI eligible.
* Live within commuting distance and work onsite 3-4 days per week in the Ft. Meade, MD location.
* Collaborate with Cisco Engineering to advocate for innovation for our customers and share what is coming with our customers to help them be the groundbreakers of technology.
* Build customer documentation, including HLD, LLD, and ATP for the entire network portfolio.
* Drive the effort to transform our current and future network architecture for our customers.
* Lead or guide teams made up of Cisco, Customer, and Partner members in the analysis and resolution of sophisticated network problems.
* Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to solve technical problems.
* Multi-task and self-start in a fast-paced team environment.
* Articulate a vision that inspires change.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
* TS/SCI clearance or be SCI eligible.
* 6 years' of significant experience in Cisco networking, including Data Center and Enterprise Networking technologies.
* Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA).
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP-DC) and/or (CCNP-EN).
* Experience with Data Center Layer 2 and Layer 3 overlays, for example, VXLAN, OTV, EVPN.
* Advanced enterprise networking knowledge and experience with the following areas: Cisco Routing & Switching Platforms, Data Center Switching Platforms, IP Routing, Internetworking, MPLS, LAN Switching, Multicast, Route Redistribution.
* Familiarity with features including: MPLS, MPLS-TE, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP, QoS, Ipv6, IP SLAs, MST, PIM, DMVPN, GETVPN, NetFlow, vPC, Fabric Path, STP experience, ISIS, MBGP, and iBGP.
* Ability to lead or guide teams made up of Cisco, Customer, and Partner members in the analysis and resolution of sophisticated network problems.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to solve technical problems.
* Ability to multi-task and self-start in a fast-paced team environment.
* Capacity to see and articulate a vision that inspires change.
