**Job Summary**
As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients, families, and staff. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining medical records, performing accurate registration interviews, maintaining patient scheduling functions, and providing excellent customer service. You will also participate as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care and perform routine clerical duties as needed.
**Responsibilities**
### Essential Functions
* Prepares and maintains all clerical aspects of the medical records through established guidelines, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
* Performs accurate registration interviews with direct data entry to facilitate full registration for all new patient appointments and up-to-date information on all established patients across multiple provider specialties as assigned.
* Maintains patient scheduling functions, sets patient appointments through established guidelines, and ensures timely and efficient scheduling.
* Receives and directs messages, including electronic, in-person, and telephone calls, to the appropriate personnel, and makes contacts to other departments, physicians, patients, and outside organizations as necessary for departmental/practice operations.
* Keys patient dispositions, diagnostic codes, patient orders, charges, and payments as defined in the electronic medical record, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
* Performs cashiering functions as it relates to co-payments or other patient payments/collections, and may perform routine clerical duties for the department.
* Provides excellent customer service for patients/families/representatives and other members of the treatment team, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
* Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and efficient care.
### Additional Responsibilities
* May be required to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
* May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the department and patients.
* May be required to participate in ongoing training and education to maintain knowledge and skills in patient care and administrative support.
**Qualifications**
### Experience Requirements
* 1 year of data entry experience preferred.
* 2 years of clerical/customer service experience, ideally in a healthcare-related industry, preferred.
* 1 year of experience with third-party payors and computer systems for data entry and reviewing patient demographic material preferred.
### Education Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED required.

* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
