We're seeking an experienced Crisis Specialist to join our 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team. As a remote position, you'll handle incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988. Your role will involve providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress.
**About the Role**
This part-time opportunity is available on a 3rd shift schedule, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6pm-2:30am CST. You'll be part of a dynamic team that's passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to meet individual needs.
* Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to best meet individual needs.
* Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide.
* Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation.
* Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings.
* Assist in administrative tasks as needed.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
* Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods.
* Demonstrate high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette.
* Knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources.
* Knowledge of suicide assessments.
* Skill in providing crisis intervention.
**Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, Psychology, Social Work, or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist.
* Six months to one year of related crisis experience.
