**Experienced Crisis Counselor – 988 Chat/Text Specialist, Third Shift**

We're seeking an experienced Crisis Counselor to join our 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team as a 988 Chat/Text Specialist. This is a remote position that requires a strong ability to communicate effectively via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods. As a Crisis Counselor, you'll play a critical role in providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. **Job Summary:** As a 988 Chat/Text Specialist, you'll be responsible for handling incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL). You'll provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments, answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform, and conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide. You'll also participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings, and assist with administrative tasks as needed. **Responsibilities:** * Provides telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to meet individual needs. * Answers crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to meet individual needs. * Conducts follow-up calls for individuals who are deemed moderate to high risk for suicide. * Meets the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation. * Actively participates in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings. * Assists in administrative tasks as needed. **Requirements:** * Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, Psychology, Social Work, or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. * Six months to one year of related crisis experience. * Demonstrated knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources. * Knowledge of suicide assessments. * Skill in providing crisis intervention. * Effective communication skills via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods. * High-level customer service skills and professional etiquette. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and trauma. * Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques. * Certification in crisis intervention, such as QPR or ASIST. **Work Environment:** As a remote employee, you'll have the flexibility to work from home and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
