The Email Marketing QA Analyst plays a key role in the initial and ongoing testing of our marketing automation including email that are built and delivered through Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This role is expected to bridge the gap between technical skills, recurring process development and good communication with team members. You will be expected to not only develop and automate test cases but also to troubleshoot issues with Marketing Cloud that come up during the testing process. Primary Responsibilities:
• Create test plan, test cases and scenarios. Build descriptive test scripts for users to validate expected functionality
• Validate SQL queries, review segmentation logic, Cross-check audience counts, exclusion logic
• Maintain QA validation checklist keeping it in sync with current processes
• Manage process and consolidate feedback from users to identify and troubleshoot issues
• Perform end-to-end journey testing, trigger testing and data flow validation
• Offer input to new development based on findings during testing in a systematic and descriptive manner
• Assist in managing environments (e.g. UAT, Production) across platforms (e.g. Salesforce Sales Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
• Assist in managing release cycles and deployment process across environments
• Assist in managing and prioritizing backlog of bugs/errors and feature requests/enhancements
Required skills and competencies:
• Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is required
• Hands on experience validating triggered sends, journey based campaigns and batch campaigns
• Understanding of automation life cycle, regression automation cycle and defect cycle
• Should have prior experience and understanding of Data extensions (DEs), Attribute relationships & Contact Builder, Subscriber attributes & personalization strings, AMPscript (basic to intermediate) and Dynamic content rules
• Experience in project management tools such as JIRA, Workfront, Monday.com
• Understanding of testing methodologies such as static & dynamic testing, black box and white box testing
• Experience in system integration testing is desired
Required Experience:
• 4-7 years of experience in regression and functional testing environment preferably on financial platforms
• Cross-client email validation (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, mobile clients), responsive HTML structures
• Tools Worked: MS Office (Excel, PPT, Word), QTP (Mandatory Skill), Marketing automation platforms (SFMC)
