Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.)
Overview
We recently partnered with a fast-growing, private equity-backed organization within the Safety space looking to add a Director of FP&A to their growing team. The company operates with a strong focus on operational excellence, data-driven decision-making, and value creation, serving a sophisticated client base in a highly regulated environment. Backed by experienced investors, the business is in an active growth phase, with leadership committed to building best-in-class finance processes, systems, and reporting to support long-term strategic objectives. The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will play a critical role in driving financial strategy, performance management, and executive decision support. This role will partner closely with senior leadership and private equity stakeholders, providing rigorous analysis, forward-looking insights, and scalable financial infrastructure to support growth, profitability, and cash generation.
The ideal candidate brings meaningful experience in PE-backed operating environments, strong leadership capability, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead company-wide FP&A activities, including annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, and monthly/quarterly performance reporting
• Own development and maintenance of integrated financial models (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet) with a strong emphasis on cash visibility and predictability
• Partner closely with executive leadership to assess performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support strategic decision-making
• Prepare board-level and investor-facing reporting, including KPI dashboards, variance analysis, and performance narratives
• Support private equity stakeholders with ad hoc analyses related to value creation initiatives, cost optimization, and capital allocation
• Build, refine, and scale FP&A processes, tools, and reporting cadence in a high-growth environment
• Serve as a strategic finance partner to functional leaders across the organization (Operations, Sales, Product, HR, etc.)
• Lead, mentor, and develop FP&A team members as the organization scales
• Support M&A activity, including financial modeling, due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition performance tracking
Qualifications
• 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or Corporate Finance
• Prior experience working in private equity-backed companies strongly preferred
• Proven experience partnering with executive leadership and presenting to Boards and investors
• Advanced financial modeling skills with strong command of three-statement models and cash flow dynamics
• Track record of success in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments
• Strong business judgment with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution
• Exceptional communication skills and executive presence
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus
