About the position
Sparq is seeking a Senior SAP / Azure Engineer to lead backend engineering for a complex financial platform. This role involves building and maintaining an analytics engine, financial forecasting pipelines, rate table logic, and rules engine design across a range of financial products. The engineer will develop full-stack across front-end and back-end concurrently, leveraging Azure services for scalable, cloud-native delivery within an agile pod structure. Responsibilities include integrating with external financial systems, designing portfolio management data structures, developing front-end dashboards, and collaborating cross-team on shared data schemas. The role requires leveraging Azure infrastructure such as App Service, AKS, and data platform services to ensure backend components are performant, secure, and production-ready. The engineer will also participate in technical design reviews, support document output and reporting capabilities, and serve as a senior technical contributor through integration and closing workflow phases, maintaining code quality and technical consistency.
Responsibilities
• Lead backend engineering for a complex financial platform, building and maintaining an analytics engine, financial forecasting pipelines, rate table logic, and rules engine design across a range of financial products.
• Develop full-stack across front-end and back-end concurrently, leveraging Azure services to support scalable, cloud-native delivery within an agile pod structure.
• Integrate with external financial systems and data sources, building reliable pipelines on Azure with structured error handling and full calculation traceability.
• Design and implement portfolio management data structures and develop front-end dashboards that surface financial insights to end users.
• Collaborate cross-team on shared data schemas, developing independently against agreed contracts to maintain velocity without creating inter-pod dependencies.
• Leverage Azure infrastructure — including App Service, AKS, and data platform services — to ensure backend components are performant, secure, and production-ready.
• Participate in technical design reviews with peer delivery pods, contributing architectural perspective on integration points and shared platform components.
• Support structured document output and reporting capabilities, transforming financial data into consumable formats for business stakeholders.
• Serve as a senior technical contributor through integration and closing workflow phases, maintaining code quality and technical consistency as the platform converges toward go-live.
Requirements
• Full-stack engineering depth with strong backend expertise in data analytics, financial calculations, and integration pipeline design.
