Role Overview:
We are seeking a
Classic Rock Music Narrative & Features Author with profound, lived-in knowledge of the 1960s–1980s music scene. This role goes beyond facts and figures; we need a storyteller who understands the cultural nuances, social atmosphere, and "vibe" of the era. You will be responsible for high-level narrative pieces that require deep contextual awareness and a sophisticated editorial voice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and write deep-dive narrative stories, long-form features, and oral histories that provide cultural context beyond basic facts.
• Focus on the "why" and "how" of music history, capturing the zeitgeist of the 60s, 70s, and 80s for a discerning audience.
• Craft anniversary retrospectives and artist profiles that blend historical accuracy with authentic, era-specific insight.
• Collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief to ensure all content meets the high standards of "insider" knowledge our brand represents.
Required Qualifications:
• Expert-level knowledge of classic rock culture with the ability to write with significant historical "flavor" and context.
• Extensive years of professional writing experience in music or cultural journalism.
• A portfolio demonstrating an ability to handle complex, narrative-driven storytelling.
• All other standard requirements regarding SEO, CMS workflow, and original human-written content apply.
