Web Developer – WordPress Site Management & Maintenance

Apply Now
We're looking for a skilled WordPress developer to join our team and take ownership of managing and maintaining multiple WordPress websites. This is a hands-on role that blends technical expertise with collaboration — you'll keep our sites running smoothly while helping our internal team build the knowledge to do the same. What You'll Do You'll be responsible for the ongoing health and performance of our WordPress portfolio. That means keeping plugins, themes, and core installations up to date, monitoring for security vulnerabilities, and resolving issues before they become problems. When something breaks or a site goes down, you'll be the person we turn to for a quick, reliable fix. Beyond the day-to-day maintenance, we want someone who can step back and look at the bigger picture. You'll audit our current setups, recommend best practices for security and uptime, and put processes in place so our sites stay safe and live around the clock. You'll also work closely with our team to document procedures and provide training so that basic maintenance doesn't always depend on one person. What We're Looking For We need someone with strong experience managing multiple WordPress sites simultaneously — not just building them, but keeping them healthy over time. You should be comfortable working with plugins, troubleshooting conflicts, managing hosting environments, and implementing security hardening measures like firewalls, SSL, backups, and malware scanning. Just as important is your ability to communicate clearly. You'll be explaining technical concepts to non-technical teammates, writing documentation, and collaborating across the organization. Ideal experience includes: Working with WordPress at scale across multiple sites or a multisite network. Familiarity with popular security plugins such as Wordfence or Sucuri. Experience with managed hosting platforms like WP Engine, Kinsta, or Flywheel. Comfort with PHP, HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript. Setting up automated backups, staging environments, and uptime monitoring. A track record of creating clear, usable documentation or training materials. Why This Role Matters Our websites are central to how we operate, and we need them online, secure, and performing well at all times. You'll have real ownership over that outcome and the freedom to shape how we approach WordPress maintenance going forward. If you're someone who takes pride in keeping things running and enjoys helping others learn, we'd love to hear from you. Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
