About This Role OpenTrain is recruiting a Visual Media Quality Evaluator to review image and video outputs for quality, clarity, consistency, and visual accuracy. This is a hands-on evaluation role for experienced visual media professionals who can compare outputs, identify nuanced differences, and deliver structured feedback. This is a remote, part-time contractor position with a minimum commitment of 20+ hours per week. Work is worldwide and conducted in English. • Employment type: Contractor, Part-time • Time requirement: 20+ hours/week • Language: English (Native or C2 required) • Data type: Image and video; label type: Evaluation/Rating What You'll Do • Analyze images and videos to assess overall quality and adherence to established standards. • Compare outputs for aesthetic, stylistic, compositional, and visual-accuracy differences. • Provide clear, constructive, objective feedback that helps improve consistency and quality. • Collaborate with other evaluators and creative professionals while maintaining thoroughness and impartiality. Requirements • 2+ years hands-on experience in visual media such as photography, videography, video editing, camera operation, UX/UI design, or motion graphics. • Strong written and verbal English at Native or C2 level. • Demonstrated ability to identify nuanced visual differences and explain them clearly. • High attention to detail and commitment to consistent, objective quality assessment. • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience supported by a strong portfolio or proven work history. Helpful Background Candidates with previous experience in AI training, data labeling, or AI-adjacent evaluation work will be well suited to this role. Familiarity with visual quality standards used in tech-forward or research-driven settings and experience working remotely with diverse stakeholders are advantageous. Compensation, Tools, and Workflow Pay is on an hourly contractor basis; the project lists an hourly range of $20–$55 USD, with $55/hr as the top rate indicated. Exact rate and billing cadence will be set by the hiring team at offer time. You will complete evaluations using the project’s labeling interface (listed as Other/proprietary tooling).
