We are looking for a curriculum developer to create a 4-day Fashion Design × Visual Arts program for campers ages 11–14. This program should help campers explore fashion as a form of self-expression and visual art as a way to communicate ideas, identity, and culture. Campers should experiment with painting, sketching, collage, sculpture, textile design, wearable art, and fashion illustration while learning how art and fashion influence one another.
Lessons should be hands-on, creative, and age-appropriate, introducing campers to color theory, patterns, texture, silhouette, accessories, mixed media, fashion trends, and basic design principles. Campers should have opportunities to create original fashion pieces, accessories, mood boards, fashion sketches, and wearable art inspired by different themes, cultures, or artistic styles.
The final day should culminate in an art exhibition and runway-style fashion showcase where campers display their artwork, model their wearable creations, and explain the inspiration behind their designs.
Deliverables should include:
4 detailed lesson plans (approximately 1.5 hours each)
Daily objectives, vocabulary, materials lists, and step-by-step activities
Teacher scripts and guidance for inexperienced instructors
Student worksheets, sketch templates, mood board activities, and design planning pages
Hands-on projects using affordable and realistic camp materials
A culminating project plan for the art exhibition and fashion showcase
Rubrics for creativity, craftsmanship, originality, teamwork, and presentation
Suggestions for simple, affordable materials such as fabric scraps, paint, cardboard, beads, recycled materials, markers, glue, and accessories that can realistically be used in a camp setting
