Supervisor: Director of Ulster Prevention Council

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, occasional evening and weekend hours will be required based on program needs

Function:

Ulster Prevention Council (UPC) is a Family Services, Inc. program housed in Kingston, NY. Our mission is to reduce and prevent substance use and substance use disorder (SUD) among youth and families in Ulster County by providing support services to ensure that strategies address local needs and preferences employing programs that have been proven to work. We work with health and human services agencies, school districts, government, law enforcement, youth organizations, and community members to reduce and prevent alcohol and substance use.

The UPC prevention educator is responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating prevention education in school and community settings, while enthusiastically supporting, practicing, and communicating the agency's mission and statement of values.

Work Environment: The work environment is in the office, schools, community, or health agencies, and after school and youth centers. The office follows New York State Covid-19 protocols as directed. The noise level is moderate.
