Travel RN Opportunity – Remote Utilization Review

A leading acute care health system is actively seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Utilization Review for a fully remote travel assignment. This is an outstanding opportunity for experienced Utilization Review nurses with acute care expertise, recent Epic experience, and strong InterQual knowledge looking for a stable remote contract with a nationally recognized healthcare organization. Position Details • Specialty: Utilization Review / Case Management • Position: Registered Nurse (RN) • Shift: Days – Monday through Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM PST) • Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Weekly • Contract Length: 13 Weeks • Start Date: July 13, 2026 • Location: Remote (Must Work Pacific Standard Time) Why This Assignment Stands Out • Fully Remote Work Opportunity • Consistent Monday–Friday Day Schedule • Competitive Weekly Pay • Supportive Multi-Facility Utilization Review Team • Fast Submission & Interview Process • Opportunity for Contract Extension • Work with a nationally recognized acute care health system Facility Highlights • Remote Acute Care Utilization Review Department • Epic Electronic Medical Record System • Supports Multiple California Acute Care Hospitals • Evidence-Based Utilization Management Practices • Collaborative Case Management Environment Ideal Candidate • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License • Minimum 3 years of Acute Care Utilization Review experience in a hospital setting • OR 1 year of recent Remote Utilization Review experience • Previous Travel Experience Required (including remote travel assignments) • Recent Epic experience within the last 6–12 months • Strong working knowledge of InterQual Criteria (Required) • Experience with Medicare regulations, HMOs, IPAs, and utilization management processes • Self-motivated with excellent critical thinking, communication, and time management skills Responsibilities • Perform concurrent and continued stay utilization reviews using InterQual criteria • Determine medical necessity and ensure compliance with evidence-based guidelines • Complete admission, retrospective, pre-certification, and prior authorization reviews • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams to support appropriate patient care • Review appeals, denials, discharge planning, and regulatory compliance requirements • Document all utilization review activities accurately within Epic while maintaining CMS, HIPAA, and organizational standards Important Assignment Requirements • Acute Care Hospital Utilization Review experience is required • InterQual proficiency is a non-negotiable requirement • Recent Epic experience is required • Must be available to rotate between three supported facilities • Every third weekend rotation required based on department needs • Must strictly follow Pacific Time scheduling and California labor regulations • Overtime is not permitted unless pre-approved by leadership This opportunity is actively interviewing experienced Utilization Review RNs and is expected to fill quickly.
