Title: Children’s Book Illustrator Needed — Style Matching + Full Book Production (Paid Test)
I am the author of a completed children’s picture book and am looking for a skilled illustrator to complete the full project from start to finish.
This includes all interior illustrations, cover-ready artwork, and final print-ready files.
This project requires closely matching an existing illustration style and maintaining that consistency across the entire book.
This is NOT a project for developing a new style. The ability to replicate an established visual style with precision is critical.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
• Title: A Winter With The Chesterfield Woodsmunks
• 20–24 interior illustrations
• Cozy, warm, watercolor/gouache storybook style
• Woodland setting with recurring characters (chipmunks, fox, wolf, bear)
SCOPE OF WORK
• Full set of final illustrations (20–24 scenes)
• Front cover artwork (using final scene or selected composition)
• Optional: Social media / promotional “hero” images using book artwork
• Final print-ready formatting for Amazon KDP (or similar)
STYLE REQUIREMENT (CRITICAL)
The illustrations must match an existing visual style very closely.
All artwork should feel like:
• drawn by the same hand
• in the same moment
• in the same book
There must be no stylistic drift from scene to scene.
If your work is placed side-by-side with the reference images, it should feel like it belongs immediately.
This is not an interpretation project — it is a style-matching and consistency-focused project.
DELIVERABLES
• High-resolution illustrations (300 DPI, 4000px+ recommended)
• Print-ready files for KDP (with bleed/margins as needed)
• PNG and/or layered PSD files
• Cover artwork (print-ready)
• Optional promotional images (if included in scope)
BUDGET
• Fixed price: $1,500 – $2,100 depending on experience and scope alignment
• Includes paid test and full project
PAID TEST (REQUIRED)
Shortlisted candidates will complete a $100 paid test:
• Recreate one provided illustration as closely as possible
• This is used to evaluate style matching, consistency, and attention to detail
Only candidates who pass the test will be selected for the full project.
COMMUNICATION EXPECTATIONS
• Clear and consistent communication
• Responses within 24–48 hours
• Ability to follow detailed direction and feedback
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Children’s book illustration
• Strong character consistency across multiple scenes
• Experience preparing print-ready files for KDP or similar platforms
• Experience working within an established visual style
AI-assisted workflows are acceptable only if you can maintain strict consistency and control across all illustrations.
