<p><h2>Location </h2> <p>Reading, London, Bristol, Brighton, Leeds, Cambridge; UK </p> <h2>About the Division </h2> <p>The Water Utilities Division is Mott MacDonald’s centre of excellence for UK and Ireland water and wastewater challenges. </p> <h2>Overview of the Role </h2> <p>Senior Technical Principal in our Technical Assurance workstream. Reports directly to the Workstream Lead and works with the Assurance Team and asset management community. </p> <h2>Responsibilities </h2> <ul> <li>Technical assurance of statutory regulatory submissions such as annual performance reporting, business cases and plans, long‑term strategic plans, operational performance and deliverables. </li> <li>Water resource investment planning. </li> <li>Wastewater and bioresources investment planning. </li> <li>Strategic asset management and business planning. </li> <li>Carbon and net‑zero appraisal and strategic planning. </li> <li>Integrated systems management. </li> <li>Data analytics and decision support tools. </li> <li>Contract appraisal (NEC, PPP). </li> </ul> <h2>Candidate specification </h2> <ul> <li>Academic and professional qualifications with relevant skills and experience to maintain a competitive edge. </li> <li>Background in engineering, accounting/economics, asset management, auditing and technical assurance of statutory regulatory submissions. </li> <li>Experience with asset management ISO standards, technical audits, assessment of regulatory requirements and impacts on service outputs, service metrics, performance commitments and associated base and enhancement schemes. </li> <li>Experience of collaborative research for UK water companies and regulators and use of research outputs in assurance activities (advantage). </li> <li>Proven experience of delivering technical assurance work within regulatory submission timescales. </li> <li>Membership of a professional body and/or water regulatory networks as an expert and expert witness. </li> <li>Capable of presenting assurance findings clearly through formal presentations and reports. </li> <li>Adaptable to changing situations and environments, responding quickly to emerging opportunities and risks. </li> <li>Ability to provide support and mentoring to graduate assurance group members, promoting “can‑do” behaviours. </li> <li>Willingness to undertake assignments throughout the UK and short international visits. </li> </ul> <h2>UK Immigration </h2> <p>Mott MacDonald does not currently offer sponsorship under the Skilled
