I am seeking an experienced tax professional to assist with preparing and filing my taxes as a self-employed individual (1099). The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of independent contractor tax requirements, deductions, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for a 1099 self-employed individual
Identify and maximize eligible deductions and credits
Provide guidance on quarterly estimated taxes
Ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations
Offer general tax planning advice to minimize future liabilities
Qualifications:
Proven experience handling taxes for self-employed individuals or small businesses
Strong knowledge of 1099 forms, Schedule C, and relevant tax codes
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Enrolled Agent (EA), or equivalent preferred
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to communicate clearly and explain tax matters in simple terms
Preferred:
Experience with tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, TurboTax, or similar)
Familiarity with small business finances and bookkeeping
Compensation:
Open to proposals (hourly or flat rate) based on experience
