Job description: Supporting Library Specialist (Part-time, 30 hours)Are you energized by change, love variety in your day, and thrive in service-first environment? As a Supporting Library Specialist at Arapahoe Libraries, you'll float between branches, the bookmobile, and our call center-stepping in wherever help is needed most.This is a dynamic role that requires flexibility, adaptability, and a strong passion for public service. No two days are the same-and that's exactly what makes this work so rewarding. This role is part-time, 30-hours per week.Schedule and AvailabilityBecause of the changing needs of this position, open availability is required:
Monday-Thursday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
Friday-Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PMWhat You'll Do as a Supporting Library SpecialistPatron Assistance
- Greet and assist patrons at various locations
- Handle account inquiries and transactions
- Answer reference and technology questions
- Promote programs, resources, and events
- Provide service via phone and online chat
- De-escalate concerns and create a welcoming environment
- Shelve and organize library materials
- Maintain displays and library spaces
- Stay informed on internal updates and services
- Share feedback with supervisors and collaborate with coworkers
- Adjust to changes and varied environments at each location
- At least one year of experience in customer service, libraries, or education
- Intermediate technology skills and willingness to learn new tools
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel with short notice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm for serving people of all ages and backgrounds
- A flexible mindset and comfort with frequent change
