Position: Supply Chain Planner, Raw Materials (Raptor) Space X was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Supply Chain Planner, Raw Material (Raptor) This is an exciting, high-profile, cross-functional position that plays a pivotal role in ensuring the timely forecasting and inventory management of critical raw materials and supports building a best-in-class supply chain. In this position, you will collaborate closely with procurement, production, and engineering teams to anticipate demand, mitigate risks, and maintain optimal inventory levels in a dynamic environment. Your work will directly impact production continuity, cost efficiency, and our ability to meet our high-rate launch cadence across Falcon and Starship. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented project manager who thrives on data analysis, strong cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintain accuracy and audit bill of materials (BOM) in material requirements planning (MRP) systems in preparation for satellite and subassembly rate production • Establish and manage inventory level targets, review line of balances, align demand supply signals and allocations, maintain product master data, and develop expertise in Space X software, systems, and reporting tools • Identify and mitigate risk to ensure continuity of supply chain by constructing and executing a supply plan that meets quality standards and production deadlines • Develop an expertise in MRP and triage the signals and understand the matrix to apply your knowledge and educate the teams we support in the proper use of MRP and its benefit to the business • Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality organizations to determine change cut in and reduce obsolescence of material and eliminate/reduce quality issues • Partner with internal stakeholders on implementing advanced supply chain strategies for risk mitigations, such as long-term purchases and strategic safety stock • Proactively manage inventory and prevent stock outs while optimizing the utilization of Space X working capital • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to achieve mission success • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, government regulations, and laws • Proactively update Space X leadership and engineering teams on all critical supply issues • Analyze supply chain data and report on MRP health metrics and their relation to business goals BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of experience working in one or more of the following, or 3+ years of experience working in one or more of the following in lieu of a degree: • Engineering • Purchasing • Contract negotiation • Material or production planning • Operations or supply chain management • Material cost control • Master production scheduling PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • Technical knowledge in a commodity - for example, machining, sheet metal fabrication, tube bending and assembly, weldment assembly, raw materials, or soft goods • Proven success working on cross-functional new product introduction projects, cost modeling, and negotiation • Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions • SQL experience • Power BI experience • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite: Excel/Project and the ability to create pivot tables or macros, and analyze data • Experience navigating multitier bill of materials (BOM) and work orders • APICS certification • Lean Six Sigma certification • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment • Understanding of block-chain powered supply chain platforms to boost efficiency, traceability, and transparency ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: • Must be able to travel - Up to 10% of work week travel may be required, including international • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed • This position is based in Hawthorne, CA and requires being onsite, remote work not considered COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: Supply Chain Planner/Level I: $80,000.00 - $/per year Supply Chain Planner/Level II: $90,000.00 - $/per year Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
