Summer School Teachers

• *Aurora East School District 131 • *JOB DESCRIPTION • *POSITION TITLE: High School Summer School English Teacher • *IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Assistant Principal or Designee • *QUALIFICATIONS:** • Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and be properly certified to meet Illinois Teaching License Standards. A Professional Educator License (PEL) with high school endorsement and content area endorsements required. ESL endorsement preferred. • Teaching experience preferred. • Displays quality work through accuracy and attention to detail. • Committed to continuous improvement and data based decision-making. • Effective written, verbal and technology based communication skills. • Works effectively and productively as a member of a team. • Ability to work with a linguistically and culturally diverse public. • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning. • *JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:** • Actively participate in all professional development activities and/or professional collaboration time (when scheduled). • Conduct a post assessment using the district assessment instrument for all students attending academic programs. • Submit student assessment results to the site coordinator within one day after the designated periods. • Provide noted hours of direct instruction to students assigned based on posting for specific program. • Attend all building meetings scheduled by the site coordinator. • Adhere to the learning schedule and curriculum, instructional strategies, and materials provided. • Prepare the assigned classroom to promote student engagement and utilize best practices (research based) throughout the summer school period. • Prepare in collaboration with students assigned a set of classroom rules, which will be adhered to in addition to site rules. • Maintain accurate student attendance records. • Prepare daily/weekly lesson plans addressing student needs aligned with Common Core Standards make available daily lesson plans for review of the site coordinator. • Distributes meals and/or snacks to students when necessary. 3/19/26 • Maintain student grades, submit mid-term progress reports, and submit end of term report cards. • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal or program coordinator may assign. • *Aurora East School District 131 • *JOB DESCRIPTION • *POSITION TITLE: High School Summer School Health Teacher • *IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Assistant Principal or Designee • *QUALIFICATIONS:** • Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and be properly certified to meet Illinois Teaching License Standards.
