Description:
• Lead architecture development, detailed design, and analysis of rotary and linear actuators.
• Collaborate with a small cross-disciplinary engineering team to develop robotic hardware solutions.
• Guide junior engineers and help improve their designs.
• Participate in creative brainstorming and concept generation for new mechanisms and systems.
• Conduct engineering analysis to inform design decisions and optimize performance.
• Compare concepts through iterative design, prototyping, assembly, and testing.
• Perform FEA and related analysis to validate and refine designs.
• Create GD&T-informed drawings, bills of materials, and procurement documentation.
• Produce assembly instructions and finalize project documentation.
• Participate in pilot builds, perform DVP&R, and iterate designs for scalability and DFMA.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in actuation and/or robotic systems development or similar.
• Mastery of engineering fundamentals and first-principles thinking.
• High proficiency in CAD tools such as NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience prototyping and testing mechanical components.
• Knowledge of kinematics, statics, dynamics, joints/mechanisms, and electromechanical packaging optimization.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage conflicting deadlines in a dynamic startup environment.
