The General Ledger (GL) team is a growing sub-team within the Accounting department, responsible for core day-to-day accounting. Working alongside Accounting Operations and Financial Reporting, we ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately and timely, for ultimate reporting to management and investors. The Staff Accountant is a key player on our team, helping us to move faster and smarter as we grow. What you'll do
• Prepare workpapers, journal entries, and reconciliations for key accounts such as cash, expenses, leases and/or fixed assets
• Coordinate regularly with adjacent sub-teams such as Accounting Operations (AP/AR), Treasury and Financial Reporting on reporting, analysis, and process improvements
• Conduct flux analyses on your assigned accounts and assist the Strategic Finance group in understanding certain new transactions or financial impacts
• Help author procedural documentation and work with the GL team to improve daily, monthly, and quarterly processes
• Work with other team members to analyze new contracts, products, and relationships to incorporate them into the GL
• Support quarterly and annual external audits by providing requested supports and documentation
What we look for
• 2+ years experience in accounting and/or finance
• Recent experience in GL accounting, which includes the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations, or comparable audit experience
• CPA license or can demonstrate equivalent working knowledge of financial accounting
• Adaptable and enjoys working on a rapidly growing team
• Curious and loves to find new ways of understanding problems or improving processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and communicates thinking clearly
