Senior Accountant
Position Summary
We are seeking a remote detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong general accounting knowledge, experience with month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting expertise, and hands-on experience with sales and use tax compliance. This role requires a highly organized professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities
Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies for multiple brands (multi-state) within the organization
Manage multiple entities P&Ls from revenue through Selling, General, and Administrative Expense
Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely
Maintain and improve accounting procedures and internal controls
Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management
Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
Research and resolve sales and use tax issues, including nexus and exemption documentation
Support special accounting projects and process improvement initiatives
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, payroll, and management teams
Perform ad hoc tasks as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Minimum of 4+ years of accounting experience required. Minimum of 2+ years of private industry accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software / ERP systems
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
Experience with multi-state/multi-entity organizations preferred
Experience with mergers and acquisitions preferred
Experience with sales and use tax highly preferred
