About the position Airbase builds software that automates commercial and federal RF spectrum management, licensing, coordination, and intelligence. The people who run spectrum inside the FCC, NTIA, or Department of War spend their days on manual frequency assignments, equipment spectrum certifications, host nation coordination, and interference resolution. Much of that work still moves through legacy systems and manual processes. We are turning it into software that is fast, automated, and trustworthy. The Spectrum Manager is a current or former DoW spectrum manager, or a close equivalent, who can sit in three seats at once: domain expert, product partner who shapes what we build, and a customer-facing voice. This is a founding-team role with real ownership and equity. Responsibilities • Serve as an authority on DoW spectrum management, from frequency assignment and deconfliction to DD-1494 equipment spectrum certification, host nation coordination, and interference resolution. • Pressure-test our coordination logic and propagation modeling, and help in the development of more automated processes for each step in the process. • Partner with engineering and product to translate spectrum workflows into the roadmap. • Write requirements, edge cases, code, and acceptance criteria. • Help design integrations with the government systems that spectrum managers already live in. • Build credibility with spectrum stakeholders across the services, the Defense Spectrum Organization, combatant command frequency management offices, DISA, J6/MC4EB, NTIA, and the FCC. • Sit across the table from customers and end-users in demos, RFI responses, pilots, and requirements shaping. Requirements • 7+ years of experience in spectrum management • 5+ years of combined military and contractor experience • Eligibility to obtain a US Security clearance required. Nice-to-haves • Active TS/SCI is a strong plus. Benefits • equity • full benefits
