A Brief Overview The Software Engineer – Web Front-End is responsible for building, testing, and maintaining the front-end web applications at Stanford Health Care, working in a fast-paced agile environment. This position will collaborate with a diverse group of product managers, designers, engineers, and infrastructure teams to build and deliver robust front-end web solutions that showcase SHC's brand while providing a high-quality experience for patients. Locations Stanford Health Care What you will doImplement features and provide production application support for SHC products and public-facing web applications and systems, following Web standards and user experience best practices. Perform unit testing, implementation, and production application support. Assist in developing processes and selecting frameworks and tools for web application development. Follow specifications to implement high fidelity visual and UX designs. Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored for quality and efficiency. Participate in troubleshooting problems related to user interaction, webpage performance & mobile web optimization. Work with stakeholders to understand and document software requirements and ensure application UI meets functional requirements. Develop functional prototypes from wireframes and mockups and create proper documentation. Gather functional requirements to generate technical design specifications. Collaborate with stakeholders and software engineers to refine and improve the user experience. Other duties as required. Education QualificationsBachelor's Degree Computer and Information Science , Software Engineering, Web Design or a directly related field from an accredited college or university. Required Experience Qualifications3+ years to 5 years of directly related experience building high quality, public facing websites. Required Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities3+ years of JavaScript experience, including the concepts of asynchronous programming, closures, promises, and ES6 3+ years of HTML/CSS experience, including the concepts of layout and cross browser compatibility 2+ years of experience building websites with the ReactJS framework Experience with supplemental tools, frameworks, and technologies: git, grunt, webpack, AJAX, JSON, jQuery, etc. Experience developing responsive websites for multiple target devices Experience or exposure to AngularJS is desirable but not required Knowledge of front-end web application optimization and performance techniques Knowledge and practiced application of industry best practices in rich web design and construction Knowledge of user behavior and interaction design patterns Knowledge of algorithms, data structure, web technologies, protocols, and cross-browser compatibility issues Knowledge of architecting or building front end components and/or libraries Ability to develop responsive web sites for multiple contexts (mobile, tablet, desktop, etc.) and multiple locales Ability to build and ship production-quality software to a large consumer audience, specifically user-centric design and development Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment Ability to demonstrate strong programming knowledge Ability to accurately communicate complex technical abstractions Ability to build and ship production-quality software to a large consumer audience Physical Demands and Work Conditions Blood Borne PathogensCategory III - Tasks that involve NO exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, and Category I tasks that are not a condition of employment These principles apply to ALL employees: SHC Commitment to Providing an Exceptional Patient & Family Experience Stanford Health Care sets a high standard for delivering value and an exceptional experience for our patients and families. Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $66.52 - $88.14 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
