Job Title:Expert Software DeveloperPlace of Performance:Empire State Plaza, Corning Tower Room 710, Albany, NY (50% remote)Minimum Experience:84 months (7 years)Rate:Commensurate with experienceEmployment Type:ContractDuration:30 months (Beginning June 30, 2025) Position Overview:GD Resources is seeking an Expert Software Developer to support a high-impact public health initiative. The position will contribute to the development and maintenance of a critical disease surveillance system that supports the monitoring of communicable diseases and public health emergencies. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative team environment, driving innovation and ensuring system excellence. Key Responsibilities:Design and develop robust web applications using Java EE technologies.Participate in requirements analysis, system design meetings, and produce specification documentation.Implement business logic and user interfaces aligned with project goals.Conduct unit and regression testing, ensuring application reliability and performance.Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.Design and develop database models and manage data migrations.Oversee and assign tasks to junior development team members.Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance modules related to Hepatitis and STD reporting. Qualifications:Minimum of 84 months of experience with WebLogic application servers.At least 84 months of experience using frameworks such as Spring and/or MyBatis.84 months of experience in Java SE, JDBC, Java Servlets, and JavaScript development with relational databases.84 months of SQL experience and relational database design.Demonstrated experience in creating system design and specification documentation (84 months).84 months of experience in developing and consuming web services.Experience with service-oriented architecture in Java environments (84 months).Strong proficiency in version control tools like GIT and/or CVS, along with unit testing frameworks (84 months).Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
