Role Overview:
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, mission-driven, and self-motivated Social Media Specialist to elevate our online presence and expand our reach across Ohio. You will collaborate directly with the CEO on strategic priorities and deliverables. This is a 1099 independent contractor role with flexible hours (~16/week).
Compensation:
• $20/hour (flexible remote contractor compensation)
• Compensation tied to completion of agreed-upon deliverables and operational expectations
• No minimum hours guaranteed

Primary Responsibilities:
• Edit and publish the “Mental Health Matters” podcast to all streaming platforms and create short-form video highlights
• Create, schedule, and post content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube, translating mental health topics into accessible, engaging, and ethical content
• Monitor social engagement, respond to messages/comments professionally, and foster community interaction
• Optimize clinicians’ Psychology Today profiles monthly and track conversion metrics
• Create free downloadable resources for website distribution and lead nurturing, including landing page content and thank-you emails
• Write and publish monthly newsletters with psychoeducation and clinician features
• Maintain up-to-date website content, team bios, and resource sections
• Maintain professional, ethical, trauma-informed tone across all public-facing content
• Prioritize content creation, social media management, and audience engagement; other responsibilities may shift based on organizational needs
Performance Standards:
• Publish 3–5 social media posts weekly
• Produce 2–4 short-form video clips weekly from podcasts or other content
• Submit analytics summaries by the 5th business day of each month
• Respond to assigned social engagement and internal communications within 1 business day
• Complete assigned edits/content revisions within mutually established project timelines
• Track all deliverables, schedules, and KPIs accurately
Operational Expectations:
• Primarily asynchronous remote work
• Use your own reliable computer, internet, and software/tools unless provided by the company
• Periodic collaborative planning meetings as needed
• All work subject to organizational review, revision, and approval
• Company reserves the right to adjust priorities, deliverables, and project focus
Brand and Communication Standards:
• Content must reflect professional, ethical, trauma-informed, and clinically appropriate standards
• Communicate mental health information accurately and responsibly
• Avoid sensationalized, misleading, or stigmatizing language
• Maintain consistency with organizational mission and professional standards
Qualifications:
• Passion for mental health and psychoeducation
• Ability to balance creativity with professionalism
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and analytics tools
• High digital literacy (Google Workspace, Canva, Descript, etc.)
• Preferred 1–3 years’ experience in social media management, digital marketing, content creation, or healthcare communications
• Portfolio of prior social media work
• Experience with short-form video editing, SEO, and analytics interpretation
• Self-motivated, organized, independent, and detail-oriented
