You will play a key role in a strategic data platform migration from Databricks to Snowflake, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in an international environment and contributing to projects that drive performance, innovation, and data‑driven decision‑making — particularly for complex analytical and financial reporting use cases. Job location: Remote (Europe‑based) Contract type: Contractor (B2B) / Employee is available if based in Portugal Target start date: ASAP ⏰ Working hours: Full‑time (40h/week) Compensation: Daily rate €350 – €500 Note: All applications (CVs) must be submitted in English. Your Impact In this role, you will: Architect, design, and manage end‑to‑end Snowflake‑based data platforms, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability Lead data modelling initiatives (dimensional, normalized, and hybrid models) to support complex analytical and financial reporting needs Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines, including orchestration, data ingestion, and real‑time or near‑real‑time streaming integrations Collaborate with stakeholders to analyse data requirements, translating business needs into effective data architecture designs. Ensure best practices in Snowflake implementation, including performance optimisation, security, access control, and storage management. Develop advanced SQL and Python scripts for data transformation, automation, and validation Integrate DevOps practices such as CI/CD and infrastructure‑as‑code into the data engineering lifecycle Provide architectural leadership and mentoring to data engineers, fostering high standards for delivery, documentation, and collaboration Support proofs of concept (POCs) and contribute to technical evaluations of tools and technologies ⚡ What Makes This Role Challenging You will work in complex, evolving enterprise data environments You will balance architectural rigor with pragmatic delivery You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders across teams, cultures, and time zones As a senior contractor, autonomy is high — and so is responsibility What We’re Looking For Must-haves 7+ years of experience in data engineering, including at least 3 years architecting Snowflake solutions at scale Strong expertise in SQL and performance tuning for large analytical workloads Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture (storage, virtual warehouses, query optimisation, data sharing) Proven experience with data modelling (3NF, star/snowflake schemas, analytical data marts) Hands‑on experience with ETL/ELT and orchestration tools (e.g. dbt, Airflow, Dataiku, Talend) Fluency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation and transformation tasks. Solid understanding of DevOps practices in data environments (CI/CD, version control, IaC) Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders Fluency in English Must be Europe‑based and able to work as a contractor Nice-to-haves Experience in consulting or client‑facing environments Exposure to Databricks to Snowflake migration projects Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Knowledge of real‑time data processing frameworks (Kafka, Spark Streaming) Background in financial services or insurance is a plus How Our Salary Ranges Work At Keyrus, salary ranges reflect different levels of mastery and impact within the same role — not different job titles.
