About The Role This role is an SEO-focused position with a significant expansion scope into AI search visibility, including generative engine optimization (GEO). You will own and develop organic strategies across a diverse portfolio of home service clients, starting with foundational technical SEO elements such as site audits, structured data, schema implementation, Google Business Profile management, and content topical coverage.
As AI search continues to evolve rapidly, you will also lead efforts in AI search positioning, including LLM citation strategies, conversational-query optimization, and ongoing AI visibility measurement.
The role demands a hands-on approach when necessary—testing new GEO tactics, validating schema implementations, debugging AI-visibility shifts, and identifying scalable solutions. Your strategic insights will be applied across multiple clients, with content drafting, review responses, and PR outreach primarily handled through AI workflows, administrative support, and contractors under your direction. Success is measured by the quality of leads generated through organic and AI search channels, emphasizing conversion and booked jobs rather than rankings or traffic metrics.
This position offers a clear pathway to leadership, with potential advancement to SEO/GEO Lead or SEO Director based on results, scope, and leadership capabilities. Qualifications
• 3+ years of SEO experience managing a multi-client portfolio, preferably within an agency setting
• Proven hands-on technical SEO skills, including site audits, schema implementation, internal linking, page speed optimization, and site migrations
• Experience managing Google Business Profiles and executing local SEO strategies across multiple locations
• Daily use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, with sound judgment to ensure quality and avoid lazy outputs
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt to AI search innovations and incorporate them into strategic workflows
• Ability to produce clear, data-driven reports and defend recommendations effectively
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and process optimization
Nice To Have
• Background in home services industries such as roofing, plumbing, waterproofing, pest control, or similar trades
• Experience with AI-visibility tracking platforms and adapting SEO strategies for AI-driven search results
• Content brief writing for AI-assisted content production teams
• Digital PR experience, including HARO/Qwoted outreach, expert positioning, and data-driven campaigns
• Knowledge of knowledge graphs or entity-relationship modeling for SEO and AI search
• Workflow automation experience using Make.com, Zapier, n8n, scripting, or similar tools
Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive audits of incoming client accounts focusing on technical SEO, Google Business Profile health, content gaps, and AI search visibility
• Develop and implement tailored SEO and GEO strategies for each client, including keyword mapping, content planning, and profile optimization roadmaps
