Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary The Siteman Cancer Center is seeking an organized and motivated life sciences professional to join the Biologic Therapy Core Facility (BTCF). The BTCF, a shared resource of the Siteman Cancer Center, operates and maintains an FDA-registered cleanroom facility designed to manufacture custom biologics for early phase clinical trials. Successful candidates will work independently or as a member of a project team to perform complex research studies, experiments and assays. This position will serve as a critical team member responsible for implementing and sustaining research projects, and upholding current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Execute technical procedures to support manufacturing of custom biologics (e.g., cell therapies, vaccines, imaging agents, etc.) for early phase clinical trial. Work with Lab management to develop new, and improve existing, research protocols to support project/program objectives. Ensure laboratory activities and research protocols comply with all laboratory Quality Management System and laboratory safety objectives and procedures. Ensure lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures. Assist in the training laboratory staff and/or Project Team personnel on laboratory procedures to ensure compliance with all laboratory standards. Participate in rotating off-hours “on-call” response to emergency alarms or occasional support. Working Conditions: Works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals. More About This Job Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a life science laboratory using standard laboratory equipment. Experience following documented laboratory procedures. Strong written/verbal communication skills and ability to maintain complete and organized records/reports. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access). Experience in an academic/clinical laboratory or manufacturing setting that is accredited/regulated by an external governing body (e.g., CAP, FDA). Experience with aseptic technique, cell culture, basic molecular biology applications, ELISA, Flow Cytometry and/or other cell sorting applications. Experience using clinical centrifuges, automated cell counters, biosafety cabinets/fume hoods, tissue culture incubators and other general laboratory equipment. Experience working within a cleanroom facility or other closed system laboratory environments (i.e., animal husbandry barrier facility). Experience writing and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Demonstrated ability to work independently or as an integrated member of a team.
