Our client, a cutting-edge biotechnology firm dedicated to pioneering novel therapeutic solutions, is seeking an exceptional Senior Research Scientist with a specialization in Molecular Biology to join their innovative R&D team in Miami, Florida . You will play a crucial role in driving the discovery and validation of new drug targets and therapeutic modalities.
Responsibilities: Design, execute, and interpret complex experiments in molecular and cellular biology to advance research programs. Develop and validate novel assays for target identification, characterization, and screening. Lead independent research projects from conception through completion, troubleshooting experiments as needed. Analyze and present experimental data effectively in internal and external forums, including scientific meetings and publications. Mentor and guide junior research associates and scientists, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment. Stay current with the latest scientific literature, technologies, and methodologies in molecular biology, oncology, immunology, or relevant therapeutic areas. Contribute to the intellectual property strategy through invention disclosures and patent filings. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including discovery biology, chemistry, DMPK, and translational sciences. Manage external collaborations with academic institutions and CROs as needed. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and laboratory procedures.
Qualifications: PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience, with a strong publication record. Proven expertise in a range of molecular and cellular biology techniques (e.g., qPCR, Western Blotting, ELISA, Flow Cytometry, CRISPR, gene editing, cell-based assays). Demonstrated experience in designing and executing complex experiments and interpreting results. Experience with therapeutic area relevant to oncology, immunology, or infectious diseases is highly preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to scientific challenges. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and lead research initiatives, as well as collaborate effectively within a team. This role requires a hybrid presence in our Miami, Florida facility for laboratory work and team collaboration, with flexibility for remote work for data analysis and report writing.
