Senior PHP Software Engineer

About the position Join a high-impact, full-stack engineering team at TheGuarantors as a Senior Software Engineer. You’ll partner with engineering leaders, product managers, and stakeholders to design, build, and maintain scalable applications that support both internal operations and our customer experience. Responsibilities • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to build features end-to-end—across backend, frontend, and APIs • Lead technical design discussions and help evaluate tradeoffs • Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews • Work closely with product and design to transform business needs into practical engineering solutions • Come up with solutions for improvements on web-scraping methods • Enable and build upon mission critical systems within our business Requirements • Exceptional interpersonal skills • 3+ years of relevant production work experience in back-end web development, preferably using PHP • 3+ years of relevant production work experience in front-end web development, preferably using React • Experience with Web-scraping technologies • A willingness to champion team needs and get involved with strategic decisions. • Deep understanding of API concepts and designs • Advanced understanding of SQL • Familiarity with modern web infrastructure components (e.g. caching, serverless, API gateways, etc) and how to manage them. • Understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms, and experience creating and evaluating technical design documents Nice-to-haves • Experience working with AWS Benefits • Opportunities to make an impact within a fast growing company • Medical, dental, & vision insurance, beginning day one • Health savings account with employer contribution • Generous PTO and paid holidays • Flexible working hours • 401(k) • Paid parental leave • Company sponsored short and long term disability • Flexible spending accounts (healthcare, dependent care, commuter) • Competitive salary
