Job Summary
Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Senior Manager of Business Development. This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work a hybrid schedule or a remote worker. This position reports to the Mission Support Director of Business Development. Responsibilities include lead identification, opportunity qualification, customer relationship management, pursue/no-pursue decision briefs, and capture strategy for new opportunities. The position requires frequent travel (~30-40%) to support customer visits, trade shows, conferences, and equipment demonstrations/testing. The successful candidate demonstrates high integrity, proactively builds new skills, and independently drives work to meet program goals and business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
Manage and conduct the evaluation and implementation of new initiatives and business opportunities for the Company under the direction of senior business development leader or site leader
Provide strategic and tactical direction to the business development function by evaluating new initiatives and business opportunities
Conduct and may oversee the market analysis and competitive activity
Identify and explore customer needs
Provide assistance in the planning, designing, and implementing of business plans
Assist with the follow through and deployment of the Company's vision, strategies, and tactics
Coordinate and facilitate activities and commitments with other departments and/or functions
Develop and track project schedules
Participate/coordinate in strategic alliances and other external business relationships
May manage Business Development staff
Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Make presentations on Company portfolio of products and services
Attend business meetings as requested
Attend trade shows
Analyze and have general understanding of the Government budgeting process
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years of relevant experience
Master’s degree preferred
Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills
Planning and organization, project management, and time management skills
Proposal development and Shipley process experience
Capture management experience
General business acumen
Strong analytical and financial skills
Ability to solve complex problems
Knowledge of defense markets and technology
DoD experience is preferred
Willing and able to travel between 30-40% of the time
The salary range for this position is $130,828.00/year - $176,618.00/year for the states of Illinois and Minessota, $143,911.00/year - $194,280.00/year for the state of Washington, and $150,452.00/year - $203,111.00/year for the state of California. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
