As a Senior Full Stack Software Development Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of Delta's customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, Maintain, and Support Critical Applications: Create, maintain, and provide production support for mission-critical applications used by the Digital Channels team.
- DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure: Develop and maintain DevOps processes for cloud infrastructure on-premises and in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Mentorship and Code Reviews: Provide code reviews, training, and guidance for junior engineers to ensure the highest quality code and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Project Estimation and Delivery: Accurately estimate deliverable timelines and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Translating Business Requirements into Functional Code: Translate complex business requirements into functional code that meets the needs of stakeholders.
- Automated Testing: Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the quality and reliability of applications.
- API Design and Development: Create applied, practical, and actual architectures and curate OpenAPI specs.
- Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with leadership, colleagues, and vendors to ensure seamless collaboration and project delivery.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Hands-on Development Experience: 3+ years of hands-on development experience with AWS (preferred) or Azure Cloud technologies.
- Design Thinking and Test-Driven Development: Experience with design thinking, test-driven development, and embedded security.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Experience with containers, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, Developer Workstation, DevOps, Jenkins, Code Build/Code Pipeline, API Gateways, Lambdas, DynamoDB, Nexus, Gitlab, and related technologies.
- Quality-Focused Development: Strong commitment to quality-forward development practices, with automation at the forefront for continuous quality.
- Data Security: Experience implementing best practices for data security.
- Configuration Management: Strong understanding of configuration management.
- Programming Skills: 3+ years of experience using JSON, JavaScript/TypeScript, and API RESTful/microservices services.
- Web/Mobile Application Architecture: Strong understanding of web/mobile application architecture and security, OAuth.
- UI Development: 3+ years of hands-on UI development experience using Responsive Design.
- Front-end Frameworks: Proficient in Bootstrap or Foundation frameworks.
- Data Handling: Experience handling data through JSON.
- NoSQL Databases: Experience or exposure to DynamoDB and MongoDB.
- Multi-Tier Architecture: Knowledge of multi-tier architecture, object/Visio modeling.
- Testing Frameworks: Experienced with Cypress, Quip, UML, Mockito, Wire Mock, Unix scripting.
- Agile Team Environment: 3+ years of experience working in an Agile team environment.
- Safety and Security: Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: Single men's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.
- AWS Certifications: AWS certifications are a plus.
