About YGF Manufacturing
YGF Manufacturing is an Australian-founded food, drink, and supplement manufacturing coordination and facilitation business. We source manufacturers, validate production processes, manage regulatory requirements, and coordinate end-to-end execution on behalf of brand owners — from first formula through to finished goods. We operate across Australia, China, the US, UK, and EU and are building out our North American capability now.
The Role
Senior, commercially-oriented food technology role for someone who understands not just the science, but the business of bringing food and supplement products to market. You'll be our technical lead for US operations — supporting client NPD projects, managing manufacturer relationships, and ensuring products are formulated, validated, and produced to spec on time. You'll work directly with the founder. We move fast and execute — we expect the same.
Responsibilities
Lead technical scoping and formulation for NPD projects across food, drink, and supplement categories
Source and qualify US-based contract manufacturers against client briefs and our quality standards
Manage bench trials, commercial scale trials, and production sign-off with manufacturers
Conduct regulatory review and labelling compliance against FDA requirements (DSHEA, 21 CFR, FTC)
Review and validate nutrition panels, ingredient declarations, and allergen statements
Liaise with clients during technical handover, trial sign-off, and production phases
Flag formulation risks, ingredient sourcing issues, or regulatory red flags early
Build YGF's internal knowledge base: MOQs, ingredient costs, manufacturer capabilities, and lead times across the US market
Support the founder on pricing reviews and strategic manufacturer assessments
Requirements
5+ years in food technology, product development, or technical operations in the US food, beverage, or supplement industry
Proven experience with US contract manufacturers across at least two of: powders, RTD, gummies, bars/snacks, or nutraceuticals
Strong working knowledge of FDA requirements for food and dietary supplements
Experience taking products from brief through to commercial production
Able to read and interpret spec sheets, COAs, SDSs, nutritional data, and manufacturing SOPs
High commercial awareness — cost, speed, and margin matter as much as technical correctness
Clear communicator with non-technical founders and clients
Self-directed — you execute without hand-holding
Nice to Have
Experience coordinating across multiple time zones or international supply chains
Familiarity with Australian or UK/EU regulatory frameworks
Background working inside a contract manufacturer, co-packer, or manufacturing broker
What We Offer
Fully remote, flexible working
Direct access to the founder — no bureaucracy
Exposure to a fast-growing international operation across multiple categories and markets
Competitive compensation based on experience
