Senior Electrical Engineer – Federal Engineering & Design Team

Job Description: • Design electrical systems for federal buildings, upgrade power distribution networks, and ensure compliance with safety codes and environmental regulations. • Implement renewable energy initiatives while improving overall energy efficiency for federal facilities. • Conduct site surveys and troubleshoot electrical installations to ensure reliability and performance. • Prepare detailed design drawings, technical specifications, project status reports, manuals, and compliance documentation. • Ensure all designs and installations align with the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, federal agency requirements, and environmental regulations. • Plan and manage project budgets, schedules, and proposals while coordinating teams across federal agency projects. • Mentor junior staff. • Assist in the recruiting for the federal team. • Represent Olsson in client meetings and site visits, providing expert guidance from concept through construction and ensuring client satisfaction. Requirements: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. • Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical design, ideally with federal clients. • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD and other relevant design software. • Deep understanding of DoD, VA, and federal design standards and processes. • Exceptional communication skills and proven ability to coordinate complex projects.
