Description:
• Lead peering, caching, transit infrastructure design, and IP planning for the network edge.
• Optimize traffic engineering, IX/Transit/CDN integrations, and capacity planning to improve latency and cost efficiency.
• Partner with software and Network Reliability Engineering teams to design and develop the network automation stack.
• Advance low-touch and zero-touch operations and rapid configuration deployment across core and edge networks.
• Define and evolve standards for network observability and health using telemetry, fault management, and incident data.
• Implement auto-remediation strategies based on actionable operational insights.
• Serve as Tier-3 escalation for complex routing, convergence, and large-scale DDoS issues.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and develop remediation workflows to prevent repeat incidents.
• Collaborate with Product and Software teams to enable advanced service offerings such as L2/L3 VPNs and DIA.
• Influence vendor roadmaps to align with GFiber’s business goals.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in service provider network design and operations with high-availability core environments.
• Knowledge of IP/MPLS protocols including BGP v4/v6, IS-IS/OSPF, Segment Routing (SR-MPLS/SRv6), RSVP-TE, and EVPN.
• Experience with network troubleshooting and packet-level analysis tools such as NetFlow, SNMP, Wireshark, and TCPdump.
• Direct experience with multi-vendor platforms such as Juniper, Nokia, Arista, or Cisco.
• Experience with automation and scripting for device configuration and validation using Python, Go, Ansible, or Netconf/YANG.
• Experience in incident management, telemetry design, and maintaining high-availability systems in a large production network.
• Experience with end-to-end automation workflows and event-driven automation concepts (preferred).
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering principles in a network context, including SLO/SLA definition and error budget management (preferred).
• Experience with modern telemetry stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or custom alerting systems (preferred).
• Deep understanding of BGP attributes and traffic engineering across an ISP core network (preferred).
• JNCIE-SP, CCIE Service Provider, or equivalent deep industry experience (preferred).
Benefits:
• US base salary range of $139,200 to $203,300.
