This is a remote position.
The starting base salary range for a Sales Compensation & Commission Analyst II is $55,000 to $77,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.
Sales Compensation & Commission Analyst II Overview
Responsible for the development, analysis, reporting and administration of the organization's sales compensation and commission programs.
Essential Duties:
Contributes to the design and development of sales compensation and commission plans that support the organization's sales positions. This includes update to sales compensation and commission collateral.
Responsible for maintaining and updating sales compensation and/or commission program applications, systems, and/or databases.
Follows corporate audit guidelines to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the processing of system hierarchy and/or commission changes and preparation of commission and/or compensation statements and files.
Monitors the sales compensation and commission payout processes, ensuring that calculations are correct, and payments are submitted for processing within specified timelines.
Acts as a liaison between the company and customer to respond to inquiries and resolve issues related to sales compensation and commissions
Performs complex data modeling to analyze the design and effectiveness of current sales compensation and commission programs, identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement. Present information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Analyzes data to prepare and distribute reports on commissions, bonuses, sales compensation, and Form 5500 Schedule A information, including financial accruals
Ensures documentation and procedures are updated and maintained. Responsible for providing onboarding training to new employees and delivers training to communicate and explain sales compensation and commission programs.
Ensures that all compensation-related activities are in compliance with applicable regulations and standards
Participates in various sales compensation and commission related projects
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Sales compensation or commission plan administration is strongly preferred; flexible equivalent backgrounds considered would be: Financial analysis, compensation analysis, payroll with variable pay, Sales/Revenue Operations, business/data analysis with strong financial or incentive modeling, and accounting or audit experience with a focus on reconciliation and controls
Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and manipulate large datasets with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex data to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Adherence to ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive compensation information
Problem-solving skills with ability to analyze compensation issues, propose solutions, and make recommendations for improvements
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to create/modify queries and or reports and present findings
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP with aptitude for learning other analytical tools
Knowledge of database applications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, related field, or equivalent related experience
2+ years of progressive relevant work experience
Or, equivalent military experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience in sales compensation and commission program administration and analysis
Experience with sales compensation management software is a plus
Sales compensation plan design knowledge and/or experience

Understanding of financial concepts and the ability to interpret financial data.
