Research Scientist Intern – AI/ML Research, Fraud, Authentication, Speech, Video

Job Description: • Develop and evaluate machine learning systems: Design, implement, and assess advanced models for problems such as fraud detection, authentication, biometric verification, speech processing, video understanding, and synthetic media detection. • Prototype and validate new research ideas: Explore state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques and build proof-of-concept systems to address emerging challenges in security, identity, and media authenticity. • Work with multimodal data: Analyze and model speech, audio, video, and related signals to improve system accuracy, robustness, and real-world performance. • Benchmark against industry standards: Evaluate models on internal and public datasets, participate in relevant research benchmarks and challenges, and compare approaches against state-of-the-art methods. • Collaborate on research and innovation: Partner with researchers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to translate research ideas into practical capabilities. Contribute to technical reports, publications, and thought leadership where appropriate. Requirements: • Active enrollment in a PhD program in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.) required. • Ability to demonstrate experience in one or more of the following: fraud detection; authentication and identity verification; speech processing; audio and/or video deepfake detection; speech, audio, image, or video generation/synthesis; speaker recognition/processing; anti-spoofing; voice biometrics; facial recognition; video understanding and analysis; machine learning for security, biometrics, or trust and safety. • Python skills required. • Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras required. • Proven track record of successful and timely project delivery required. • Experience with ML, speech, vision, or security-related challenges and benchmarks (ASVspoof, Kaggle, NIST SRE, CHiME, AV-Deepfake1M++, etc.) is a nice to have. • Experience with C/C++ is a nice to have. • Deep knowledge of biometrics, authentication, fraud, customer experience, speech, or video research concepts is a nice to have.
