University Academic Advising at the University of Washington Tacoma has an outstanding opportunity for an Academic Advisor, Senior. This position will provide professional academic advising to current and newly admitted first-year and pre-major students, including students who are exploring academic options, working towards declaring a major, considering a change of major, and those who are returning to the University. This position is expected to work on campus but may be eligible for partial teleworking.

The Academic Advisor, Senior in University Academic Advising serves as a member of a professional team providing holistic advising services for undergraduate students who are: The Academic Advisor, Senior uses professional knowledge and experience with University resources to empower students to identify interests and match personal strengths with educational and career opportunities. Important aspects of the work include asset-focused and learning-centered advising, understanding of the relationship between education and career, attention to detail, frequent contact with the University's administrative system, and active engagement with the faculty and staff in the academic program for first-year students.

Specific responsibilities:

(75%) Advising
Provide live (email, online, by telephone and Zoom) one-on-one advising for individual students within an assigned advising caseload. This includes but is not limited to the following: (15%) Lead (10%) Collaboration Other duties as assigned.
